In April, we will launch a program with what has been
designated as Parkview Care Groups. The concept is
similar to what we once called Brother's Keeper Units.
Overall goals include spiritual growth, an increase in
unity, edification and encouragement of one another, and
an opportunity to be of service to others.
Parkview members have been placed on one of four teams.
Two men have been selected to head each of these groups.
Lists of the four groups will be passed out to members
during the Sunday morning worship period.
Each group will operate under very loose guidelines.
Meetings are to be held at least once each month, at
times and places chosen by the groups. Meetings will
include prayer and possible Bible studies. Meals or
refreshments are optional, as are any games.
Through this program, we hope to develop ways to contact
and encourage delinquent members, visit our sick,
shut-ins and bereaved in person or by telephone and
cards, encourage local visitors and friends, and
schedule Bible studies with friends and neighbors.
The elders would like to encourage all members to avail
themselves of this opportunity to become better
acquainted with their brothers and sisters. We pray that
we will all be drawn closer to each other as we strive
to enlarge God's family at this place.

Since
this printing, the concept of Parkview's Care Groups
went through a change. Now, in addition, each group
provides a meal for the visitors lunch once a month. The
name also changed from Care Group to Care Team, and then
back to Care Group. |
