Caring For One Another

 

I. Church Life

This mission of this ministry is:
"To draw Parkview family members closer to one another."

"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works."
Hebrews 10:24

 
Specific Responsibilities
  • Plan regular social activities.
  • Supplies for CTC
  • Plan special events, such as 'Friends, Family & Neighbor Day', new members dinner, holiday party for adults.
 

II. Care Groups

This mission of this ministry is:
"To determine and meet the needs of members as well as improve communication."

"Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another, just as you are doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11

CARE Groups are designed to be a time of fellowship between members of Parkview Church. When someone becomes a member of Parkview, they are added to one of 2 groups of families. Each group meets one Sunday of the month, getting to know each other, fellowshipping, and spurring one another on to love and good works.

 


Specific Responsibilities
  • Form teams from membership, with the aim to discover needs of others and care for those needs. Select leaders for those teams.
  • Organize and activate a telephone chain within each group for communication purposes.
  • Work within groups to reclaim non-participating members.
  • Utilize groups to provide food in case of bereavement or sickness
  • Provide meals for Thursday Support Group.


III. Visitation

This mission of this ministry is:
"To provide visits and encouragement to in-town guests, as well as non-participating members and shut-ins."

"Pure and undefined religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."
James 1:27


Specific Responsibilities
  • Involve members of congregation in different phases of the visitation program.
  • Hold regular meetings of visitation participants.
  • Obtain cards of visitors and assign members to make calls within next week.
  • Keep records on absentee members and assign visits.
  • Visit those who are shut-ins, hospitalized or in nursing homes.
  • Promote the visitation program in an effort to increase number of teams.
  • Submit annual budget proposal to budget committee.
