I was born on a farm in Southeastern Oklahoma as the youngest of nine children. I attended Albany High School, and graduated in 1952. From there, I attended Southeastern
and graduated in 1955, then received my M.S. in 1962, and my Ph.D. in 1968 (both from East Texas).
I taught two years in Oklahoma, then two years in Sherman, Texas
where I became a school principal and later a superintendent.
I married my wife Barbara in 1955. We have two children, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

I became a Christian at age 27, much to the influence of Barbara. Here at Parkview, I served as a Deacon for many years, and for the last
thirteen years I've served as
an Elder.
On a side note, I enjoy living on the farm, working in the garden, and raising cattle, all of which keeps me from growing stale. |
