There is quite a bit
that goes into planning and conducting a Vacation Bible School.
Because of this, there is a strong need for some sort of
organization. Parkview's VBS is not bought, but written and
designed specifically for Parkview and the children living in
the Sherman area.
Parkview has a team of...
interesting and talented
workers that spend countless hours preparing, building,
brainstorming, designing and writing for VBS each summer. After
working together for many years, this
team includes:
 |
|
Bradley
Brooks:
After 23 years
of growing up, Bradley realized there's more to VBS than
just snack time. He writes the curriculum and attempts to lessen
the chaos of pre-VBS prep; of course, working from home
allows for time to do such things. Bradley has been involved
with Children's Ministries' at a number of churches, but
finds Parkview to be unique in that, he used to be a part of
it. |
|
You can find Bradley on stage as the host
and in the Research Room this year. |

Jason Hale:
Coming
to us only two years ago, Jason has brought the joys of
Elvis into our hearts. Serving as Youth Minister, this
father of two manages to juggle his church life with his
work life and leave plenty of time to run amuck. Jason
continues to stay busy with the kids and teens at Parkview
(cause he cares, not cause he's paid) and currently leads
our Bible Hour program. |
|
You can find Jason on stage as Methuselah
and in Legends Cove on Monday this year. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Tyler Milton:
Known
as the crazy one of the group, Tyler enjoys walks in the
park, daffodils and dancing jigs. He has provided many
technical services to VBS throughout the years and is, once
again, our head script writer. Tyler has been very involved
with the Children's Ministry at Parkview and his set design
ain't to shabby. Oh, and his favorite past time is shootin'
fish in a barrel. |
|
You can find Tyler on stage as Panama
Jack and in the Cave of Wonders this year. |
| |
|

 |
|
Pam Tennial:
Crafty
crafty Pam has the creativity of... someone who is very very
creative. Designing artwork and crafts for VBS and Bible
Hour, she has reinvented the age of VBS "craft time." As a
fulltime mom and master scrapbooker, Pam began her acting
career two years ago in the age old epic, "VBS 04, Skit #4."
She is also involved in the Children's Ministry at Parkview. |
|
You can find Pam in the Art-I-Facts Lab
this year. |
| |

|
Alison Tesney:
Puppetmaster extraordinaire, Alison has lent her vocal
talents to such characters as Jasper the Skunk and LeRoy the
Script Super. She has a knack for art and contributed many
sought-after chalk drawings to VBS 03. Alison has been very
involved with the Children's and Youth Ministry and
currently teaches 1st & 2nd grade at Parkview. |
|
You can find Alison on stage as the voice
of Olmec this year. |
There are more than just these listed above that contribute a
significant amount of time in preparing, serving and teaching:
Judy Low
is our preschool director for Vacation Bible School. She has
been serving in this area for a number of years and compiles all
the curriculum for both preschool groups. Being a huge asset to
the PV-VBS team, she not only teaches but also manages the
entire preschool division of VBS.
LaVerle Mathis
goes above the call of duty registering the children and adults
that attend each evening. We can always rely on her spreadsheets
and detailed lists of everyone who shows up. A necessity to this
team, LaVerle currently teaches the 1st and 2nd graders at
Parkview.
Welton Stoker
is our adult class facilitator for Vacation Bible School.
Another way to look at it: He is the man in charge of making
sure the parents know what the kids are learning. After many
requests, this is his third year to teach the adult class in the
auditorium. A valuable member of the PV-VBS team, Welton
is also the minister here at Parkview.
Jeff Tesney
is behind the scenes most of the time simply, 'making things
work.' An extremely versatile and reliable volunteer, Jeff has
been in costume teaching, behind the camera producing and
running sound, computer, lights and video. He currently teaches
the Jr High at Parkview. |
