LEARNING OUR LESSON THROUGH POWER POINTS

Power Points for the mind...

No, not Powerpoint, power points. Powerful lessons to be instilled in young minds throughout the week of VBS. These power points are derived from the super powers each Bible character has. We can learn a lot from these 'powers' and should try to use them in our everyday lives as we strive to serve God in all we do.

To the right, you will see the Power Points VBS will focus on this summer.

Daniel and the Power of COURAGE

Deborah and the Power of TRUST(ing) in God

The Good Samaritan and the Power of COMPASSION

Gideon and the Power of STRENGTH

A. Tesney - Staff Writer

The Power Points will be taught in 4 classes. We take our classes very seriously, so we see to it that they are:

Value Driven   where character and faith are taught by emphasizing a daily virtue.
User friendly   a place where friends will be very comfortable visiting.
Creatively wired   where video, lights, sound, and drama are used to make a lasting impression.
Family Centered   where parents and kids learn the same lesson for a shared experience.
Kid focused   where learning is fun and relevant to today's kid.
Volunteer fueled   where everyone can participate and get connected.

The four kids classes are:

  • Heroes-in-Training: (Lesson Room) - Meet Captain Marvel and friends up close! Learn how to become a real Superhero by showing Courage, Strength, Compassion and Trusting in God!
  • League of Extraordinary Heroes: (Bible Character Room) - Meet the superheroes of the Bible Daniel, Deborah, The Good Samaritan and Gideon and hear their stories first hand! Ask them questions and get to know how they became true superheroes!
  • Conquest Crafts: (Craft Room) - Put together and take home your very on piece of Superhero memorabilia. Don't go home without your cape or outfit!
  • Power Play: (Activity Room) - Ever want to be a part of the story? Now you can! Dress up, get your script, and... Action! Take what you have learned and watch it unfold right before your very eyes!
