Friday Finale - July 25th

Ahoy Mate's! "The Believer" is settin' sail July 21 and we want you on board! We've got the best crew you could ever want to sail with... a real goofy bunch of people. Allow us to introduce you:

  The Captain

Captain Walker D. Plank served in the Royal Navy for 30 years before becoming a trade boat captain.  He and his crew sail the high seas in order to meet new people and teach them about the Bible.

"I sail because I love to. I lead because I'm called to. My crew will always be following God's example as long as I'm in charge."

  The Buccaneer

This guy seems to only appear when something needs fixed, accomplished or saved. He's a mysterious one, saving the day on more than one occasion. No one really knows where he hails from, possibly Spain or France,  but when on board, he is one of us.

"Living on the sea is what I was born to do. Now that I serve with such a great crew, I'm given the opportunities to spread the Word of God to new areas of the world."

  The Master

Master Locke N. Key is the Captain's right hand man. He has his eye on the ship at all times, but most importantly, he is the keeper of  The Code Book. The Code Book is where the crew stores all the important information they learn on their voyages.

"The Code Book is a special piece to this crew. We learn how to conduct ourselves from the Bible, so we write it down here for other crew members to read."

  The Landlubber

Mr. Bradley did not grow up on the seas, but has had a passion for a nautical adventure all his life. He has lived near a port though, so is well versed in the sea life. He is your host this year that will take you aboard "The Believer" so together we can Discover the Code.

"Though I've never been aboard a real ship, I'm excited to learn the ways of the sea. I hope you'll join me on this adventure to discover God's guidelines for our lives!"

  The Deckhand

A man of few words, Mr. Swab D. Deck is always at work fixing a leak or repairing a porthole. In fact, it's a rarity to not see him working on something. He has been serving on "The Believer" for 2 years and is constantly learning new things by studying the Code Book.

"The Captain defiantly keeps me busy during the day aboard the ship, but I always find time to open the Bible and jot down scriptures in The Code Book."

  The Quartermaster

Master Jesse runs the day-to-day operations on the ship, overseeing that everything happens in a timely fashion. While at port, he teaches the local children how to search for God's Code. You will usually find Jesse behind the sail or below deck running operations.

"Overseeing the operations of the ship is a daunting task, but someone's got to do it. It makes me feel good to know that I play a part in spreading the Word."

  The Ship Chaplin

The crew wont set sail without the Chaplin on board. Mr. Welton has been sailing with this crew since day one. Not only does he spend time ministering to those below deck in the bilge, but focuses his efforts on teaching those who are not familiar with The Code.

"I believe every crew member on "The Believer" needs to know what the Code's mean, and how to apply them to their lives. They then can share their knowledge."

  The Boatswain

Mrs. Alison grew up on the seas and has devoted her time to training young sailors on The Code. The Captain has always allowed her to use the Captains Quarters to teach. She enjoys spending her time at port as well as traveling from country to country delivering Bibles.

"Teaching is a blessing but is not easy. It takes a lot of planning and patience. But most importantly, the support from your fellow crew members."

  The Sailmaker

On the ship, Mrs. Pam makes sure the crew is taken care of whether that be with the garb or sail maintenance. As well as ship guidelines, The Code Book contains instructions for life; so she spends her time on board crafting ways to make The Code creative and interesting.

"It's important to have fun while aboard "The Believer." All work and no play makes for a cranky crew. So I'm always on the look out for ingenuitive ways to teach."
